What is this blog about?

What is this blog about? It started as a sort of journal about the journey I thought I was taking - one of weight loss. You see, my wife inspired me to finally change my ways, get off the couch and start working on being healthy. I'm selling it short, but that's the gist of it. In any case, the efforts I made to lose weight resulted in developing a love for fitness, and I've decided to carry on with it.

Here at last is my story. . .

Argh

Kind of an up and down week so far.  First, the positive - I got my Leo! I finally got it - the USPS is probably the worst delivery service in the world, but I got it nonetheless.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get it to fit right, and that's annoying, but I'm really happy with the sound quality and battery life so far.  No more listening to the muzak crap they play for me - Pandora is go (wish I could afford Spotify!).

The downside, this week is *both* of my kids' birthdays.  Part of that celebration means taking them both out for dinner.  My son loves Applebee's, so that's easy enough to cope with - I can just get a steak with some broccoli.  The down side is my daughter who loves chinese food.  I ended up getting a dish called palace beef which is just beef and onions in an oyster sauce (no rice).  Chinese food is delicious without doubt, but every dish in chinese cooking seems to be all about the sauce that's put on it.  All of those sauces seem loaded with sugar.  I wonder if there is such a thing as chinese cooking that doesn't involve a sauce that isn't a soup?  IDK, but I forsee very small losses this week because of it  :-(  I'm sure it's something that will happen again, i just need to find a better way of handling it.  Don't go?  Go but don't eat?  Go and eat but get something ridiculous?  I can't imagine what that'd be - damn you delicious chinese food!

Pounding it hard at the gym.  I have been focusing in on the cardio.  Doing the elliptical I made a goal this week to stay around ~70RPM.  Sweating balls by the end of my sessions.  The stupid gym needs more treadmills too.  It's weird how my opinion of the gym was so negative before I started going and now it's an off day when i don't go.
