What is this blog about?

What is this blog about? It started as a sort of journal about the journey I thought I was taking - one of weight loss. You see, my wife inspired me to finally change my ways, get off the couch and start working on being healthy. I'm selling it short, but that's the gist of it. In any case, the efforts I made to lose weight resulted in developing a love for fitness, and I've decided to carry on with it.

Here at last is my story. . .

Shedding a Shload of Weakness (-3#)

One axiom goes "pain is just weakness leaving the body".  If that's true, there's been an exodus of weakness from me the last two days.  I started my new regimen on Tuesday as I previously described.  It wasn't bad, but it was harder than I thought it'd be.  My legs are really where it hurts unsurprisingly.  What is surprising is how they hurt.  Walking I feel stiff and jello-y at the same time.  Going up stairs is ok.  Going down stairs I feel like my knee won't hold me up on every step.  It'll get better, but man, I can't wait.  It'll be worth it though.  Already is in fact posting a 3 pound loss two days after a 1 pound gain.

One interesting thing; I DID NOT follow on with the HIIT this time.  I went straight cardio, and only 20 mins of it at that.  I am 90% certain I almost died just doing that.  I can't wait to see how I feel Friday after my cardio session.  My legs still aren't working well, but i'm still going to do the routine tonight so we'll see.

I do forsee a small amount of tweaking in this routines future.  There's a lot of lower body training, but not much upper.  I'd like to see a couple more upper body steps included into the routine.  Something that hits the arms a bit harder would be nice, maybe the core more.  Technically everything should engage your core, but I want to feel the hurt everywhere.  My shoulders, arms and back are sore, but they're the voice of a newborn compared to the roaring hurricane that is my legs.  So either my legs were *that* out of shape, or I just have room to work my upper body harder!
