What is this blog about?
What is this blog about? It started as a sort of journal about the journey I thought I was taking - one of weight loss. You see, my wife inspired me to finally change my ways, get off the couch and start working on being healthy. I'm selling it short, but that's the gist of it. In any case, the efforts I made to lose weight resulted in developing a love for fitness, and I've decided to carry on with it.

Post-Plague. . .Kinda (-1#)
So i'm down another pound since Wednesday which is OK I guess. Not stellar. Part of the problem is that I had a terrible eating weekend. I ate breakfast on Saturday, and that was it. Sunday I had some chicken for lunch and then a taco salad for dinner, but I also had a bunch of almonds in the middle. Maybe too many carbs on the day? IDK. I am sure not eating didn't help (though some might think it would - I don't). Also didn't get to the gym - bleh.
The problem really centers around two things. First, we're trying to get our house prepped for sale this spring, so we were doing a lot of work around the house. Busy means no time for things like eating right or exercise. Second, my wife who just got over a cold last weekend came down with a nasty little 24 hour flu so I had pick up the cooking. No big deal, except that we had other people helping which meant I was cooking food I don't usually want to be exposed to because i'll eat it (and I did).
Again. . .the universe conspires against us as we set our lofty goals. We shall yet overcome though! I'm wondering if maybe my current cardio regiment is already becoming blase to my body. "Ho-hum, another set of boring intervals? Fine, lets get them done." I can't decide if I should add more time to the overall cardio or add more or longer intervals though. What's more effective? What am I capable of? What would my preference be? On the whole it's a good problem to have. There's really nothing like a first world problem to have to solve :-)
