Well, weigh-in wasn't as spectacular as I was hoping. That's ok, I still went down. . .that's all that matters right?
Eating is weird for me now. I get hungry often. I get full fast. There's no good way to deal with it. I don't want to carry around food everywhere, but I hate being hungry. I never know how much to eat so I try to eat slowly to give myself time to recognize that i'm full. There's a lot to think about here. I mean, I don't like that over-full feeling anymore. I used to eat to that point and look where it got me. I want to eat to the point where i'm comfortably full and then move on. I understand small snacks in between meals will help your body metabolism-wise. It's like sending a message that says "hey, there will always be more fuel, so don't bother to store anything!".
The up shot is that this is exactly why I picked the atkins diet. It's kinda built-in that you can eat as much as you want and as long as your carb count is in the right range your body will use the food appropriately. I want to point out here though that I don't believe it was atkins that has led to my success here. That's right - IT WAS NOT ATKINS.
So what is it? What is driving my success? That's easy - a commitment to lifestyle change! It's the whole shebang. I mean, Atkins contributed, don't get me wrong. I think though that I could've picked any diet modification plan and that would've worked just as well. I picked one that I thought suited my mentality at the time and it was kind of like a comfort blanket. I could eat as much as I wanted as long as it suited conditions x, y, and z. That's pretty powerful stuff - sating the mind so that the body can do the work. Pair that with a conscious decision to change other relevant aspects of my life - being more active, regular trips to the gym, etc and you have a recipe for success. You just have to stay committed and follow through.
